It's been a while and i saw [info]steerpikelet 's meme post and thought why not

Gemma likes to strip for her footballer

Gemma hates modelling

Gemma eats tables !!!

Gemma drinks before filming the raunchy sex scenes

Gemma is a knock out in the boxing ring

Gemma thinks maybe procrastinating is the sorce of all my problems

Gemma looks like she might be calm, but that might be her family charm. There's chicken beheadings involved, and that spells magic.

(close runners up - gemma looks like a duck crossed with ugly betty, gemma looks like a Bratz doll!!! )

Why do I share my name with Gemma Atkinson!!!

Yes I am still here

Feb. 13th, 2009 | 01:06 pm
mood: optimistic optimistic

I guess its been quite a while since I have posted - this has to be a record.

to be honest it's more to the fact that nothing really much has happened

oh apart from my brithday - and for those who came along - i really appreciate it, but to be honest it felt a little deflated. with it being so close after christmas and new year, it kind of gets forgotten about. I've felt like this about my birthday for about the last 10 years,- every year it just gets more and more rubbish and guaranteed a day or two before my birthday all the plans fall through and i end up rather upset by it all. I'm already starting to dread my 30th next year worrying what to do and if people will be able to come.

Sometimes i think I may just cancel and have a birthday in July instead - but then comes the problem of which year should I do this?

Do I have a birthday then the sme year have another? or do I wait 18 months until I celebrate it???

ION

I am weening myself off of Facebook, i'm hoping that I can at least write a little something to reassure my friends i don't see as regularly, that I am still alive.

Russ and I are looking at getting a place together but in the current climate of rubbishness -  places tend to be too small, too expensive, too far away always something.

We're hoping to actually do something in the summer - if not then I guess it will be on the back burner for who knows how long.

Looking forward, we are taking Russ' dad to Spain with us for a week to get him out the house and liven him up a little.

Then in June it's Russ'; 40th so need to start thinking of something to do.

I've already planned to take him for a track day to drive a Ferrari 430 and a Lambo Gallardo on his actual birthday which is going to be immensly fun.

I would really like to get him a group present as he really wants a new digital camera - Lumix 10x optical zoom thingy and even though they have come down in price - about £200 now, after buying his Glade ticket and taking him away for the weekend I guess a group present is the only way I can think of actually getting this for him.

Then we have Glade which is going to be in a different location . . .  we shall see if this is a good or bad thing when it comes round.

Well, I'm off to Angel tonight so I guess I'll see a few freinds there then will be going back to home to sober myself up for a snuggly night in with Russ

Round Up (as usual)

May. 2nd, 2008 | 01:40 pm
mood: giggly giggly

hmmmm

well it has been a few weeks of  . .  hmmmm ness.

not sure what parts of this come up on the Facebook link, so the reason for hmmmmmmmnes will stay private for now, (but do not worry my little interwebs friends, all is fine just small stuff is hmmmm)

went to the Planet Angel Crew meeting the other day and it feels really good to be a part of something so wonderful. every person that was there really cared passionately about PA and that is only a handful of people involved.
I definitely want to get more involved (if only i could give up the day job).

Russ is off to Romania next week for 4 days, so planning on visiting the family at some point during the week and catching up with a few friends that i haven't seen for years.

a bit gutted that i don't think we'll be making it back to Spain in June, it looks like it will be September/October now :(

but a bit of a pre warning, Russ' birthday is 16th June (Monday) and maybe possibly organising something a little nearer the time. I understand that Charlie also has her birthday on the same day and is organising something too. ATM Russell has no idea what he wants to do, so we may end up just going to *Chilled* or something down in Surrey. details to TBC nearer the time, if Russ ever does make a decision before that day arrives.

ION , International Dawn Chorus Day is May 4th, log on to their website and find your local gathering. you can also have your own in your back garden/local park etc i am planning to get up at about 430am (or stay up!) on Sunday morning and get a big cup of tea and sit in my garden looking over the park.

My nephew's birthday is May the 4th, i so want to nickname him Yoda from now on.

Holidays!

Apr. 5th, 2008 | 04:20 pm
mood: excited excited

it seems to have come round quite quickly.

we booked the flights back in November and it felt like an age away, so much so that russ and i were hoping to have a sneaky weekend sometime around Feb.

But it is now the final countdown, T- Minus 23 hours until departure.

My sister is currently packing for herself, her husband, my niece and my nephew. But my 8 year old niece doesn't yet grasp the idea of *excess baggage* and is sneakily putting extra items in her suitcase.

the travel cot and highchair are now booked and being delivered to our apartment on Sunday morning in time for our arrival. we've had the bigger boiler fitted so we can have more than one shower, taxi is booked and i'm finally packed.

we have had to book an extra case out as we are taking a drill to fix a mirror and bed stuffs for the sofa bed, there's always more things you need - and we still need to get some bean bags.

well - here's to Spain and the next 8 days of sunshine and fun. we're hoping to go to Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Mundomar and a boat trip on a glass bottomed boat, so that's 4 days sorted.  only 2 more days to fill, both of them possible just chilling at the beach.

well, here's to not being at work til Tuesday and to spending time with your family!

x*x*x*x

Adios for now

well, what can i say, been working very hard for the past few weeks, transferred to a different restaurant and it's going really well.

i'm going to be working FOH at Angel so i'm really looking forward to it!!! i'll be stamping hands 12-1, then the till 1-2 then the shop 2-3 then back in the shop 5-6, i can't wait!!! not sure if i'll be dressing up though, cos i think i may get a little chilly stamping and tilling, so may have to save it for another day.

anyway, looking forward to seeing everyone, i'm helping set up between 8-10pm so if people want to get there early then i can spend a couple of hours 10-12 catching up, then 3-5 having a bit of a dance.

lot of love

peace out

Shopping

Mar. 9th, 2008 | 04:43 pm
mood: bouncy bouncy

just got back from a lovely, busy day shopping. Hmmmm sundays are v busy everywhere in town, I'm such a country bumpkin.

Had to do a bit of mainstream clothes buying, so headed down to Oxford Street and generally felt that it is a bit boring. But I did manage to get the perfect pair of skinny blue jeans that are actually long enough to wear with heels for just £15. (admittedly i had to go to the tall section, even though I'm short) but perfect none the less - bum looks good, legs look good, me looks good. Also got a new black t shirt for Rascal as his E-Shirt has shrunk, just need to attach his flashy panel and a battery pack. Then i mooched about trying to get some inspiration and ended up with a white, long sleeved Tee from Gap. Hmmmm, not much inspiration there! so i thought FuckIt, need to get up to Camden where it is so much more fun!

Bad Move. Spent_too_much.

went to Hexagon and saw some Plain Black pockets from Space Tribe and they are soooooo perfect for clubbing and festies so, bought them. Then went to Cyberdog as Rascal's nephew is gong to be 1 soon and he already has a KinderGoth tee, so bought him the Cutest tee with a red Cyberdog head on it. I obviously had to buy something for me so i bought some gloves as the only ones i have a black leather ones that have seen better days. then whilst waiting at the till i saw a GlitterGun, yup, bought that too! then wandering around i saw a paper lantern that would look really good in my room, so bought that. then saw the cutest skirt opposite hexagon which is suede ish and felt lovely, so got that too. then on my way to the tube i saw some more gloves but they were rainbow knitted ones that were Just Too Cute not to get, so got those.

all in all, an expensive successful day.

Nearly bought a corset, but it didn't seem as fun on my own. I'll save that for another day.

Oh, and I've fallen in love with about 10 all the corsets at FairyGothMother.

Found out that I'm getting £442 for my car!!! it's about 18 years old!!! but hey, I'm not going to argue!!

Anyways, I'm feeling rather tired.

well, in a short amount of time, a couple of things have been smoothed over and i'm now feeling SlightlyMoreOnTop of things.

I must just mention that my car insurance company have been Fantastic! I have merely had to make a call to inform them of the accident and they hahve done everything else. An Approved Accident Repair company has come to pick up the car, the Hire company providing the Courtesy Car dropped it off at my house. the insurers are organising a solicitor to take up my case for personal injury. i've not had to do anything. and Elephant were the cheapest as well!! i thought i would have to go and get various quotes for the insurers etc and thought it would be very long winded and time consuming. but it isn't!! WIN

ION, some annoying little niggles have been majorly purged, and i feel soooooo much better for it.

very much looking forward to some MeandJay time tomorrow morning, which is very overdue, as is some MeandEllie time which will be rectified tomorrow afternoon.

well i'm off to cook a fantastic Chicken and Vegetable Pie for Russell, then watch last night's Torchwood.

Everything is looking up.

Thanks to everyone's lovley words of support, it so much appreciated. even though i don't normally reply (sorry) your kind heart felt words sink in, and i feel loved. Thank you.

 hmmmm feeling very much OutOfSorts.

probably feeling a bit grrr as this morning some bloke went into the back of my car on the way to work and have spent the morning up at A&E. and now feeling rather stiff and sore. Nothing serious, i came off worse than the car. just whiplash, which aggravated my previous whiplash, so double trouble and soreness.

anyway this isn't the reason why i'm splat. and i can't really put it into words either. i know that i have a lot of friends i can talk to about this and whatever is said stays between us. however, there is simply too much going on at the moment for me to struggle to make sense of. i'm trying not to talk about it as if i say something then it makes it real and that can only mean more agonising.

i feel wretched and really quite shit. there's things i'm thinking that i never thought i would, i feel i'm changing into someone different and some people won't want me to. so part of me is trying to ignore this, to save them from the possible hurt that i may cause them. and they are important enough for me to do this. but it won't go away. the VeryImportant person would not understand though.

grrrr

then other stuff, well, other people that have been an important part at some point during my life, and have made me feel/see/realise some things that i never thought i would. now circumstances are different and i'm so confused as i have no clue what i should do, i have no idea how i feel about this. i generally feel, in a word, bollocks.

sorry to sound so cryptic, please bear with me, i'm certain things will work out one way or the other.

Birthday Part Two

Jan. 9th, 2008 | 03:36 pm
location: still in my jumpsuit at Fraggle Rock
mood: touched touched
music: Rascal playing Forza

So, we get to the Ice Rink at the Tower of London. It is a truly amazing place to have an ice rink. It is open air with the beautiful backdrop of the Tower of London.

[info]glowfairy_199 came over to me and handed me a bag (big for a bag, but not not big in general as Fraser can't fit in it) which was a present from my wonderful friends. It was my very own BOE JUMPSUIT in PINK!!!!!

wow!!! it is awesome!!! It had already been decided that i should wear it ice skating as long as i wear it pink side out. I ended up looking a bit like Patrick from SpongeBob, but i didn't care as i LOVED it. As i was skating round, i couldn't help but notice everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces and they were all having a good time. I actually stopped for a bit on the other side of the ice rink to look at all my awesome friends, to soak in the atmosphere and to look up at the surroundings. I had a lump in my throat as it really was perfect and i couldn't have wished for a better present than to have most of my friends with me, having fun and seeing them enjoying themselves. And I also was dressed in pink with my tiara on, which i had insisted on wearing all day.BIG WIN!!!
[info]mr_magicfingers very kindly took some amazing photos on my camera for me. he managed to get photos of everyone smiling and enjoying themselves. He took an awesome photo of Rascal and me which i'm going to put in the New Photo Frame. I also found out that [info]dennyd was a Secret Very Good ice skater. I asked him, previous injury allowing,  would he go into the middle of the rink and do a spin for me? In answer to this, [info]dennyd then held my hands whilst he skated backwards and guided me into the middle and very gracefully spun me round him which was brilliant and made me feel really Very Special. The hour on the rink was over quite quickly, but i think it ened up being the perfect amount of time to avoid the inevitable blisters on feet. We then reconveined at Wetherspoons for more drinking and some much needed nibbles. We all had some Very Yummy, if a little late food, apart from a dodgy garlic bread. Then Christina and Matt gave me a present too. it was a New Book, which i am in very much need of. How sweet and totally unexpected. By this time, it was getting late and people had work the next day.

I have had the most wonderful birthday and wanted to thank every single person who came along as you made it so special. The presents are amazing and i am still wearing the jumpsuit!! I'll be uploading the photos to Facebook eventually, so if you would like copies of them, let me know and i'll resize and email them over.

Thank you all so much!!!

Birthday Part One

Jan. 9th, 2008 | 03:02 pm
location: Wearing a jumpsuit at Fraggle Rock
mood: touched touched
music: Goldfrapp, Strict Machine

Well . . . . wow what an amazing day i had yesterday. It was perfect and I want to thank everyone who made it out and all the lovely messages i received.

Run down of the day

It started waking up at Rascal's to breakfast in bed which consisted of poached eggs on toast, cooked perfectly. Then the opening of extra presents that i really shouldn't have got as my BIG present i had for Christmas (which was an awesome new little camera). Rascal bought me an amazingly beautiful photo frame made of soft dark brown leather and some Very Cute laptop keyboard stickers which are Fun.Win, win win! His mum and dad gave me money as i recently bought a shiny black Freeview didgy box for my new place as no longer have cable. Win! My mum and step dad also gave me money as i have seen an extremely ME umbrella which has been ordered today. Win! My sister bought me a 2GB memory card for the New Camera which means i can now take about 1000 pictures to document my days. Win! I also received my christmas present from Rascal's mum and dad, it should have been delivered before Christmas but stupidly i forgot to order it!! Anyway it's a MoonJar from the Carbon Neutral Company. It's a jamjar (large for a jamjar but not big in general as Fraser can't fit in it) with a solar panel in the lid and LED's which light up when it's dark - immediately!!! The MoonJar is meant to act as a night light and it glows Blue which is really calming and relaxing and it's magic. Win.

After present and card opening, it was time to get up to LDN to meet Fraser and get into town to meet up with
[info]denari
. After a cancelled train and lots of texting we met up with
[info]denari
at Oxford Circus and went to Yo!Sushi on Poland Street. This was so much Fun. Lots of dishes, chatting, beer, miso and ninja stealth chocolate dessert grabbing ( go go gadget arms!) we spent a seemingly ridiculous amount but it was worth every penny for the funness and it was my birthday so f*ck the cost to be honest!

After our food we walked the 5 or so minutes to the Ice Bar on Heddon Street. I really didn't know what to expect as a lot of the reviews were really, really good or really, really bad with nothing in between. It was also advertised as £15.00 per person, and that was quite a lot to pay if it was poor. Anyway we had to turn up 15 mins before our allotted time of 3.45pm , which we did and we were seen to straight away. It was full of win as soon as we turned up as it was only £12.00 each! Win chi ching!  After waiting only a few minutes we were hooplaed with our capes - yes she really did just throw them over our heads. They were metallic blue with a white fur trim and smelt like washing powder - clean! after much giggling at each other we headed off into the cold about 5 minutes before our alloted time began. Win!

Oh My God!!!

It was amazing!! Everything was ICE, except for the ceiling and the floor which is forgiveable. There were less places to sit than i expected, as when reserving online, it says 'reserve a table' there were only 2 tables!! Never mind as we got the DJ booth in the corner instead. It had ice benches with fake fur over them to sit on and had ice sculptured decks on big bolcks of ice (fraser could fit in them so they are classed as big)! There were about another 10 people in at the same time so there was a bit of a wait at the bar for our free drink but it didn't matter as there was quite a lot to look at before then. The bar staff were friendly and as all the drinks were cocktails they were made quickly and professionally. It roughly worked out as two shots of flavoured Absolut vodka topped up with something else served in square glasses made of ice. They looked amazing, but it was slightly tricky drinking out of them and your hands did get very cold and a little wet from the melting glasses. They gloves they provide were average, i had slightly cold hands by the end but Rascal's finger actually hurt by the time we left, so i would definietly recommend an extra pair of gloves underneath the ones they provide.
As you book 45 minutes, one drink won't last you that long. they are quite expensive - £6 each, but they are double Absolut vodkas and it is really cool!!!! so we decideed to have another drink. The other people had obviously had enough of the cold and left, leaving us four, the only people. So as the first drinks kicked in, they turned up the music and it was some proper funky house and so we all started having a bit of dance and a giggle. Then i found that if you span round, the cape would fly out and you would feel quite drunk!! This then ensued all of us spinning around much to the amusement of the bar staff. You definitely cannot take yourself too serioulsy in a place like this, it may be a bit posh on the other side, but you are standing in a bar made from ice in a big bluse space cape drinking vodka from glasses that stick to your lips! What else are you meant to do?
45 minutes is the perfect amount of time for a couple of drinks, so we went outside to warm up! Fun and win!

Then it was off to meet everyone for Ice Skating, and again there were problems with transport. We ended up being a little late meeting people as we had to walk from Cannon Street to Tower Hill and i had high heels on, not the best thing to walk around LDN in, but hey ho, they make my legs look longer! Anyway we realised that we were not going to make it to the Pitcher and Piano by 5pm as it was already 5.10, we got a call from
[info]squiddity
who was sensibly at the wetherspoons next to the Tower of London, so after some quick texting managed to relay the message to everyone to meet there instead.

My feet hurt.

We met up with [info]squiddity  , [info]cuteevilpixie [info]dennyd [info]mr_magicfingers,[info]promiseclean [info]glowfairy_199, [info]elise, [info]flippet, [info]roodypoo69, matilda, matt and christina.

Updates . . . .

Nov. 21st, 2007 | 07:34 pm
location: *just off to rascal's*
mood: tired tired
music: madagasgar - Michael Woods Chill-Out Remix

well again, it's been a while since i've posted as usual. . . . .

lots of things have happened, lots of things haven't. some stuff has been good, some stuff has been awkward.

but all in all a good month to look back on.

Just had my brother's 25th birthday,  wow what a weekend of hugs, snuggles, music, sleeping, dancing, talking, human jenga/pyramids, surrealness, new friends, shopping missions, awesome outfits. i am continually amazed at the love between each and every one of my friends. their genorosity goes on for miles. it's hard being out in the sticks as i would love to repay the genorosity shown by the MonkeyHouse. it is a truly magical place!

i am now trying to organise my 2 days off from work, with my dad's 60th on friday, moving stuff out of storage, getting my brother, meeting my sister, getting to my dad's, catching up with friends and getting quaity time with Rascal, it sometimes all seems a bit too much, i want to do so much but seem to have very little time to do it at the moment. and don't even get me started on christmas presents!!! but it is going to be FUN trying

regarding Christmas, i have made the decision, that this year and hopefully the following years from now i want to give something to people who need it. i have decided to give Ethical Presents . . . ie sending vaccinations for children in Africa etc on behalf of my friends and more besides. looking into it, it makes so much sense, you can send a cockrel to farmers for as little as £5, pay for them to have a weeks farm training, pay for a water tap to be installed in a village to ensure clean water for all those who live there. it's brilliant, so this is my plan. i will keep you updated.

hmmm, Heroes is on tonight too. is anyone else find this incredibly addictive?

over and out for now.
